Henrico County Public Schools Summer Academy, 2010-2011
Summer School Programs for Middle School Students: The summer middle school program sites for the 2010-2011 school year are Byrd Middle, Fairfield Middle, Pocahontas Middle, and Wilder Middle. English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies will be the courses made available for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. These courses are only for individuals who need to repeat either one or two courses in order to be promoted to the next grade level.
- Cost: $180 per course for Henrico County Public School students. Only one course can be taken per session.
- Dates: Session #1: June 27th - July 19th; Session #2: July 20th - August 10th
- Time: 7:30am - 1:00pm, Monday through Thursday
Registration will be at your local middle school counseling office from April 4th through June 1st. Please see your school counselor for more detailed information concerning your child.
Summer Academy for Elementary and Middle School Students: Study Skills, Extreme Math, Bridge Math, Bridge Reading and other remediation courses will be offered from June 27th to August 10th for students who are identified by their schools. More information will follow in May/June.
Summer Fun for Middle School Students: The Summer Fun program will be held at both the Hermitage and Highland Springs Technical Centers.
- Cost: $150 per course for Henrico County Public School students.
- Dates: June 27th - July 14th
- Time: 8:00am - 12:00pm, Monday through Thursday
High School Summer Academy for Rising 9th Grade Students: For those students entering the 9th grade, the following classes will be offered online: Earth Science, Geometry, and Health & PE 9.
- Cost: $300 per course for Henrico County Public School students.
- Dates: June 6th - August 3rd

Wilder Middle School Fall Fundraiser!
When: September 27th through October 15th, 2010
In collaboration with Great American, we are kicking off our Annual Fundraiser for classroom materials, student programs, and teacher appreciation! You can help by:
- Filling out your REACHOUT booklet
- Selling from the catalogs
- Selling online
The sale ends (and funds are due by) October 15th, so start today! Please collect money when you take an order. All checks should be made out to Wilder MS, and items ordered will be delivered to the school on November 17th!
Students can win prizes just by filling out seven (7) postcards with names and addresses of people you know! Complete the REACHOUT pamphlet and return it to school on September 28th, and you can win a lanyard, a Lucky Duck to play Duck Games, and/or a bag of chewy Warheads! Students can win even more prizes by selling six, twelve, sixteen, or more items! Click on the following link to see what you could win!

Today’s students live in a digital world and come to school with different expectations and needs.
