Full SOL Accreditation!

In a ceremony on Wednesday, November 26th, 2008, L. Douglas Wilder Middle School was presented with its 2008 Standards of Learning (SOL) Full Accreditation flag.

The Standards of Learning for Virginia Public Schools describe the commonwealth's expectations for student learning and achievement in grades K-12. School accreditation ratings reflect student achievement on Standards of Learning Assessments and other tests in four core content areas. These ratings are based on the achievement of students on tests taken during the previous academic year and may also reflect a three-year average of achievement (VDOE, n.d.). High schools and middle schools are fully accredited if students achieve pass rates of 70 percent or above in English, History/Social Science, Mathematics, and Science.
