Message from our Parent Teacher Association President
Dear Pocahontas Middle School Family:
I hope everyone had an enjoyable summer. The PTA Board has been busy
developing plans for the 2010-2011 school year. The PTA goals for the
coming year are:
• To facilitate communication between teachers, parents and students.
• To promote and encourage volunteerism and fulfill the volunteer needs of the school.
• To sponsor cultural arts and community events at the school, which benefit the school community.
• To supply classroom teachers with additional resources for instruction.
• To facilitate the use of technology by students, parents and teachers.
In support of these goals, the PTA will once again conduct a Direct
Donations Campaign. As in previous years, we hope to conduct this
successful campaign as our one and only fundraiser for the PTA. Please
consider supporting the PTA through the Direct Donations Campaign.
There are many opportunities for you to volunteer through the PTA in
support of Pocahontas. The onsite bookstore is staffed by PTA
volunteers. And, there are many opportunities on various PTA committees
to assist with activities and programs.
The PTA newsletter will continue to be published online at the PTA
website, http://www.pocahontaspta.org. This is the primary source of
communication and contains important information about all aspects of
the PTA.
I hope everyone will enjoy a great 2010-2011 school year. If you have
any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me or any other
