P.A.C.K. (Promoting & Protecting Animals through Compassion and Kindness)
The P.A.C.K. is the perfect club for students who care about animals and want to make a positive difference in their lives. #Students speaking up for animals# is the mission statement for this humane education club. Any student may join this club at any time during the year, simply by attending a meeting, typically held once a month during 7th period or after-school. P.A.C.K. students celebrate how animals enrich our lives, research and discuss current issues/practices that affect animals and help educate others on humane treatment and responsible pet ownership. Speakers from various agencies are often invited to talk to club members, bringing awareness to specific
issues and encouraging advocacy for animals. Members typically participate in at least one community service project during the school year. The underlying theme with all our meetings and discussions is that all creatures, great and small, do matter and deserve humane treatment. There is not a specific, regular meeting day each month; Upcoming meetings will be publicized on the morning or afternoon announcements and flyers will be posted around the school. Parents are always welcome to attend the meetings. Any student with questions about this club should see Ms. Milby, resident P.A.C.K. Leader and current 6th grade School Counselor, in the School Counseling Office.
Peer Helpers
The Peer Helper program is for those students who enjoy helping others. Rising 7th and 8th graders may apply to be a Peer Helper in the spring of each school year, and if selected, will serve as a Peer Helper for the upcoming school year. Peer Helpers are involved in various school-wide activities, such as assisting at Hawk Hill Camp (our rising 6th grade half-day orientation in August prior to the start of school). During the school year, Peer Helpers are assigned to 6th grade classes and work directly with students, assisting with time management, organizing notebooks and binders, and creating good study skills. They also conduct 1:1 tutoring and peer advising through listening and modeling decision-making skills. Additionally, they host Red Ribbon Week, our annual anti-drug campaign, and perform 1-2 community service projects throughout the school year. Any questions, students should see Mrs. J. Ozolins, School Counseling Director in the Counseling Office.
Project Green Hawks
Project Green Hawks is an environmentally aware and friendly group that helps support our school’s recycling efforts. Student members help educate others about the benefits of recycling and work with the community to better our local environment. The first meeting will run from 3:30 p.m. – 4:15 p.m. but all other meetings will last until 4:30 p.m. Any student interested should see Mrs. Webb in room #2711.

SCA (Student Council Association)
The SCA is a group of students who want to have an active role in planning the events and activities for the school. Meetings are typically held during 7th period study hall time, when needed. Annually, students may run for an SCA office. Additionally each homeroom also elects at least one SCA representative. Students interested in participating should see Mrs. McKinney in room #2702.
