Ridge Elementary Gifted Program

Ms. Caroline Lingerfelt is the Primary Itinerant Gifted Resource Teacher who serves our school one day per week. With the implementation of the 2011-2016 Gifted Education Plan, her primary role continues to be providing services for identified gifted K-3 students and/or consulting with their classroom teachers.  In addition, she will support the overall instructional program within the school by using student data to determine the instructional needs of primary students when she is at our school.
 
Ms. Lingerfelt will also be instrumental in assisting the school's Gifted Identification Coordinator and classroom teachers with the implementation of the revised gifted identification process. With the change this year in criteria we will also be reconsidering a number of students so please understand the vastly increased amount of time she will likely be spending in screening, referral, and collection of student information above and beyond what has been traditional in the past during this transition year.
