Principal's Message

Welcome to R. C. Longan Elementary School and thank you for visiting our website. We welcome you as partners in our children's education. Working together to create a nurturing educational environment, we will provide the best possible schooling experience for all children. At R.C. Longan, we strive to create a school dedicated to high academic achievement, while maintaining focus on all aspects of a child's development. From students to parents to staff to community members, we celebrate each day as a "Community of Learners." We welcome your visits and ask that you stop by the office and receive a visitor's pass each time you enter the campus. This will allow us an opportunity to greet you appropriately. In the spirit of maintaining open communication between home and school, we encourage you to contact us any time you have joys, concerns, or questions to share with us.
Our theme for the 2011-2012 academic year is Lion Safari: an Adventure in Learning. We believe that learning should be a great and engaging adventure and that all children have the potential to discover greatness within themselves. It is our job, together with your support, to assist in discovering that greatness and to assist all children in becoming the unique, special individuals that they are. Thank you for allowing us the joy of working with such incredible students and families.
We hope you will be able to join us for our Open House on Thursday, September 1, starting at 4:30 pm. It will be an opportunity to meet your child’s teacher and to drop off those school supplies. In the meantime, keep up that summer reading and enjoy some time together as families!
