Hours
The Library is available for student use between 7:30am and 1:45pm daily. Teachers have access to the librarian and materials beyond those hours. Students may also use the library after school, if prior arrangements have been made with Mrs. Harris.The staff prides itself on being available both before school and after school.
Services
The following are some of the services and resources the library offers for students and teachers:
5 iMac computers, 3 eMacs, and 31 laptop computers for classroom use and checkout.
Access to the library catalog of all HCPS schools as well as surrounding public and academic libraries.
Access to important computer peripherals such as a CD burner, external drives, and digital camera.
Inter-library loan services between HCPS libraries.
Access to a wide variety of print and electronic resources.

Circulation Policies
Students may check out from 1 to 3 items on their library account at any given time based on criteria established by the libriarian.
Items can be held for one week at a time and renewed providing no one else is waiting.
Overdue notices will be distributed periodically (weekly) to remind patrons of overdue books.
The replacement fee for a lost hardback book is $16.00 and for a paper back book is $5.00. Damaged materials may be charged a fee as well.
Holdings
The library at Glen Allen collection currently holds thousands of volumes within the fiction, non-fiction and reference sections.
A wide variety of magazines are available for perusing that include titles such as Sports Illustrated for Kids, Nickelodeon, Highlights, and Cat and Dog Fancy (just to name a few).
4 full volumes of print encyclopedias (which are available for library use or checkout by teachers).
Educational videotapes on a wide variety of subjects are available for teacher use.
Support materials including CD roms and sound books and manipulatives.
