Crestview's History
Crestview Elementary School opened in September 1955 with 832 students in Grades 1-6. At a cost of $405,000, the new school was overcrowded immediately, and first and second graders had to attend classes in shifts. The annex was built to add new classrooms, which then opened in 1956 relieving the overcrowding considerably. Crestview's mascot is the Cardinal, now know as Big Red.
