Welcome to the 2011-2012 School Year “Where Everyone is a Winner!”

This school year our theme is “We Are Family.”  As a family, we anticipate a year of great learning experiences and encourage you to partner with us to help your child have a fantastic year. With combined efforts, it will be a great year for all of us!

The 2010 - 2011 results for Arthur Ashe Elementary School report that we are Fully Accredited by the Virginia Department of Education and the Commonwealth of Virginia, and Made AYP as mandated by the federal government!  Please, join us in celebrating the success of our children I am strongly encouraged by these results and know that our students will continue to achieve success!

This 2011-2012 school year, we will not only continue to focus on academics but also on activities that support the whole child.   This year we are very excited to implement our School Wide “P.R.I.D.E.” discipline expectations:  P – Practice Self Control, R – Respect, I – Integrity, D – Discipline, E – Effort.  This will continue to support our current PRIDE plan and provide a positive, safe and enriching educational environment for everyone at Ashe Elementary. The Ashe family will emphasize the importance of demonstrating appropriate social skills and holding students accountable for these expectations the entire school day.

Thank you for working with us as we build and develop habits that our students need to be successful, responsible citizens in this global community.   Additional information regarding P.R.I.D.E. is forthcoming. 

I am excited to join the Ashe family as your Principal.  I expect all students to come to school everyday, ready to learn and to make each moment count.  I look forward to meeting all students on the first day of school.  Thank you, for all you do to support Ashe’s continued success!
