One of the Key Performance Indicators for the 2009-10 academic year was the development and administration of stakeholder surveys. The survey planning process began in January and the division worked with the National Center for School Leadership (NCFSL) to support the development of an objective process and set of survey instruments that provided a national perspective for comparative purposes. Surveys were administered in April and May to students, parents, and staff using online and paper and pencil formats. Information about the surveys was communicated widely to encourage participation of stakeholders.
An initial division analysis of survey results is complete and results of the survey identify programmatic strengths and areas for improvement, and support improvement planning at the division and school levels. The survey results also provide baseline data that will allow annual monitoring of the implementation of the division’s Strategic Plan from the perspective of stakeholders. This perspective serves as a basis for one measure of programmatic growth/improvement to determine long term effectiveness of strategic initiatives.
Analysis of survey data will continue. Survey processes and timelines will be identified for the 2010-11 academic year in September once strategic action plans have been identified for year 1 implementation. All survey needs for the coming year will be coordinated to consider impacts on participants’ schedules and to support the collection of data across programs and implementation plans.
