The Henrico County Public Schools’ 2012-13 Calendar Committee presented a revised draft (3) calendar to the school board on January 26, 2012. The board is scheduled to review community input on the draft calendar, make adjustments as appropriate, and approve a calendar during its February 23, 2012, meeting. The primary difference between Draft 2 and 3 is that the winter break has been adjusted to avoid splitting two weeks. Draft 3 has winter break as three weekends and two full weeks.
Staff, students, parents, and community members are invited to provide feedback on Draft 3. Written comments should be received by Thursday, February 16, 2012, and should be directed to:

Special Note: The school board is simultaneously exploring a waiver from the Virginia Department of Education that would allow the school division to start school prior to Labor Day. Additional information is forthcoming in this regard and input will be sought from staff, families, and community members on whether or not a change is desired and on when it would take effect. In the mean time, the school division will proceed with input on its traditional calendar.
